Introduction
The Sutta Discussion Course is a follow-up course for students who have completed the Basic Buddhism Course. With the understanding Buddhist fundamentals, the students are introduced to a wide selections of suttas (sutras) from various traditions.
Course Structure
The course is organized in the form of sutta presentation cum discussion sessions. The students are encouraged to engage in discussion to share their understanding on the words of the Buddha and their own realizaion. Suttas selection include:
- Selected Long Discourses (Digha Nikaya)
- Selected Middle-length Discourses (Majhima Nikaya)
- Selected Kindred Sayings (Samyutta Nikaya)
- Dhammapada Verses (The Way of Truth)
- Milindapada (The Questions of King Milinda)
- Diamond Sutra, Heart Sutra etc.
- Life of the disciples of the Buddhas
Brother Vajiro moderates each lesson and ensures its Dharma quality and integrity by helping to summarise raised points and by clearing misconceptions, helping to elaborate on important points.
